stop washing your face

Okay, so this might sound a bit crazy, but I recently stopped washing my face and noticed the biggest difference. As soon as the temperatures start to drop I try to prep my dry skin for what's to come, and this year, inspired by this story, I decided to stop washing my face altogether. I didn't think this would have such a big impact, but man, was I wrong! It's kind of common knowledge that cleansers tend to dry out your skin, mess with your natural pH balance, and can cause redness or itchy spots, but I was so used to washing my face that at first it felt weird to stop doing it. After only a little while, though, my skin started to feel bouncier and hydrated, and looked generally ... glowy.

Needless to say I've adopted a whole new routine, that's as easy as it comes: first I take off my make-up with my beloved Bioderma Sensibio H2O (aka the holy grail of make-up removers), using unbleached cotton pads, until my skin is completely clean. Then I apply a good moisturizer (I still love my La Mer day cream, but La Roche-Posay Toleriane Ultra soothing care is a great budget friendly alternative). About once a week I give my skin a little extra love (and cleansing!) with the Aveda Tourmaline Radiance face mask, which is really awesome for instant glow. And that's it!

Which little beauty tips & tricks do you have that make a big difference? I'm super curious! :)

Hey! The reason why we wash our face is because we need to clean it from all the dust ant dirt like sweat and tallow that's old and needs to get washed. It's normal that washing your face with water or whatever cleanser messes with the ph balance that needs to be on 5,5. That's why we need to use tonics after!! They are the ones that are getting our natural pH balance back! :-) best if it is in a spraybottle, u can use it on makeup too during the day if you feel dry because of the dry air
Hi Anna! Thanks for sharing your thoughts! For me, the micellar water takes off the all the dirt without stripping my face from its natural oils. Of course, this might not work for everyone, but for me, it has made a huge difference. ;) x
Hello!, I would love to try it myself, I am really getting tired of washing my face every evening. Do my question is will it be good on an African skin (_Nigerian) and how can I order for it. Feedback ASAP. Thanks
Hey Sarah! I don't see why it wouldn't work on a darker skin, as the basic principle remains the same for every skin tone out there. Just make sure to clean your skin really thoroughly with the micellar water to avoid clogged pores. If you're looking to buy the products you can just click on the links in the article (all those shops offer international shipping). Good luck! :) xx
Yes stop washing ur face with water and buy these products. Wat a way to tell things.
If you live in Nigeria you should wash your face. The dust in this part of the world is incomparable. Cleansers are better rinsed off after being applied. Clearly that saves you from using soap. Just water.
Pls how much is it? And how and where can I get it? I hope it really works for pimples, sunburn and black spots. Thanks in advance.
Hey. My skin is really sensitive and dry. Thanks to pcos, very red and prone to acne too. I use Body Shop Tea Tree cleanser, toner and aloe vera gel to take care of my skin. Do you have any recommendations that you think I should try?
Hey Aashima! I personally don't have the best experience with gels to cleanse your skin, because they tend to really dry out your skin, and disturb your natural oil balance. I'd lean more towards the skincare lines you can buy at your local pharmacy (Bioderma, Avène, La Roche Posay,...) or visit a good dermatologist who can take a look at your skin irl. Good luck! xx
hi pls i like this product and i wanna get it how can i get it in nigeria?thanks
I like how simple your routine is and just wanna say that mine looks the same.In the morning I clean my face and neck with bioderma sensibio or hydrabio micellar water, then apply Bioderma serum or moistruzer with spf. I repeat it in the evening too. Also exfoliate twice a week. I am 19 years old and think that it enough what i do for this age but can you recommend something else?
Is dit wel een goed idee voor acne-prone skin? Than there is a buildup of oil that needs removing, no?
Hi, Can you tell me where to get these products from? Is this product is suitable for Indian skin..I have got a combination skin
but... if you clean off your make up every day, you still clean your face? i didn't even know people cleaned their face more than once a day...?
For me, the best thing to remove makeup with is olive oil "I know your probably like wth",but its soo good and as a cleanser rose water is the best so far.
