One of my favourite things about traveling is trying out new food hotspots. In fact, it's something I do an embarrassing amount of research for, making screenshots of every single new café or restaurant that looks promising, and listing the must-order treats - like a true neurotic foodie. :) And since my love of food knows no boundaries, I permanently take my food research very seriously, resulting in a picture balance on my phone with 40% of friends & family, 20% outfits, and 40% food hotspots around the world (insert red-cheek emoji). So sure enough, when we were in NYC for NYFW a little while ago, I had my list ready, with this cute power food hotspot De Maria as one of my must-visits! And it didn't disappoint...
LOCATION / De Maria is situated on Kenmare St, in the always bustling Soho district.
VIBE / It wasn't so crowded when we visited, but I liked the vibe of the simple slightly rustic-but-clean interior and open bar area.
FOOD & MUST-ORDERS / All the dishes are nutritious & healthy, basically hipster power food :) - think turmeric, avocado, honey, and coconut as rotating ingredients. We had the turmeric poached egg, and a salad of arugula, sea weed, avocado, and salmon, and it tasted fresh and well balanced.
MAIN PERKS / All-day breakfast, every day of the week (but it's equally nice for lunch and dinner), and the bathroom decor of course!
Have you been to NYC recently? Any spots I should add to my neurotic list? :)
