The Louis Vuitton show echoed the futuristic tone of their collection last season; Nicolas Ghesquière's girl was tough and ready for battle but with all the swagger and style we’d expect. There were plenty of covetable bags that I would love to have in my wardrobe, but equally lots of clothes too. This is one army I’m in line to sign up for!
The great thing about ready-to-wear shows is that they’re a feast of inspiration, and I picked up so many style tips from this show. First of all, just add red - most of us have tonnes of black in our wardrobe already so adding a textured red piece, whether that be leather, silk or fur, adds style credentials and a punch of colour. My favourite trend from the show was to mix weekend with weekday - wearing a slouchy Sunday jumper with tailored trousers for a smart-but-sporty vibe. You can also revive summer dresses by layering a contrast-print jumper underneath or a crop top over the top. Don’t forget to rethink your footwear - delicate flirty dresses can handle some serious footwear – try swapping stilettos for patent leather or biker boots to toughen the look up. In terms of beauty, who says you can’t wear dark lipstick if you’re fair? Adding a punky edge to your look gives a tough unexpected edge if you usually look girly.
